The 23rd International Conference on Architectural Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems (ASPLOS) invites participation in the ACM Student Research Competition (SRC). Sponsored by ACM and Microsoft Research, the SRC is a forum for undergraduates and graduate students to share their research results, exchange ideas, and improve their communication skills while competing for prizes. Students accepted to participate in the SRC are entitled to a travel grant (up to $500) to help cover travel expenses.

IEEE Conference on Communications and Network Security (IEEE CNS) is a conference series in IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) core conference portfolio and the only ComSoc conference focusing solely on cybersecurity. Synopsis:
The NVMW Persistent Impact Prize is awarded annually to a paper published at least five years prior that has had exceptional impact on the fields of study related to non-volatile memories. To be eligible, work must have appeared in major, peer-reviewed, archival conference of journal (i.e., appeared in an official proceedings or journal publication). For conference papers, the date of the conference will be used to determine eligibility. For journals, we will use publication date. There is no requirement for the work to have been presented at the NVMW. The award includes a $1000 cash prize. Self nominations are allowed.

The ACM International Symposium on High-Performance Parallel and Distributed Computing (HPDC) is the premier annual conference for presenting the latest research on the design, implementation, evaluation, and the use of parallel and distributed systems for high-end computing. Submissions are welcomed on high-performance parallel and distributed computing (HPDC) topics including but not limited to: clouds, clusters, grids, big data, massively multicore, and extreme-scale computing systems. Submissions that focus on the operating systems, runtime environments, architectures, and networks of high end computing systems are particularly encouraged. Experience reports of operational deployments that provide significantly novel insights for future research on HPDC applications and systems will also receive special consideration.

The ACM SIGCOMM 2018 conference seeks papers describing significant research contributions to the field of data communication networks and networked systems. SIGCOMM’18 takes a broad view of networking research. This includes new ideas relating to (but not limited to) mobile, wide-area, data-center, home, and enterprise networks using a variety of link technologies (wired, wireless, visual, and acoustic), as well as social networks and network architecture. Synopsis:
Parallel processing has become prevalent across the board. In order to continue a performance increase, innovative many-core architectures will be developed. Such systems, equipped with a significant higher number of cores per chip than multicores, pose challenges in both hardware and software design. On the hardware side, on-chip networks, hybrid memory cubes and non-volatile and stacked memory, as well as novel cache-coherence strategies will enrich the current research areas. The ROME workshop is addressed to the new challenges in hardware/software co-design of runtime and operating systems in order to exploit the available performance for high-performance but also for cloud computing.

Synopsis:
The organizers of the 27th International ACM Symposium on High-Performance Parallel and Distributed Computing (HPDC'18) call for proposals for Workshops to be held on June 11-12, preceding the main conference. Workshops provide forums for discussion among researchers and practitioners on focused topics or emerging research areas relevant to HPDC. Workshops typically include some combination of invited talks, peer-reviewed papers, panel discussions, and work-in-progress talks. We also welcome proposals for agency PI meetings, technical tutorials, or user group meetings that would engage HPDC attendees. Proposers should design workshops for approximately 20-40 participants, lasting either one full day or one half day, depending on interest and space constraints. Proposals for workshops on new topics are welcome, as are proposals to continue previously successful workshops. Workshop proposals should be formatted as a single PDF document describing the following: The full name and acronym of the workshop; a description of the theme of the workshop and its relevance to HPDC; A summary of the structure of the workshop (papers, talks, panels, etc); Data about previous offerings of the workshop (if any) including attendance, number of papers submitted and accepted; a plan for attracting submissions and attendees to the workshop; and brief biographical information of the workshop organizer and a significant portion of the program committee (if peer review is to be used).
