ANNOUNCEMENTS

Title:Tenth International Conference on Architectural Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems
Deadline: 15-Mar-2002
Webpage: http://www.cs.wisc.edu/asplos-X/
Conference: October 6-9, 2002
Synopsis:
ASPLOS is a multi-disciplinary conference, cross-fertilizing research in areas of hardware, architecture, compilers, operating systems, networking, and applications. It has captured some of the major computer systems innovations of the past 10-15 years (e.g., RISC and VLIW processors, small and large-scale multiprocessors, clusters and networks-of-workstations, optimizing compilers, RAID and network-storage system designs). Today such multi-disciplinary research is becoming even more important, as boundaries between hardware/software and local/network computing blur, as the form-factors and capabilities of computing devices becomes ever more varied, and as the user-base and applications expand exponentially.

Title:International Symposium on Computer Performance Modeling, Measurement and Evaluation
Deadline: 24-Mar-2002
Webpage: http://www.uniroma2.it/eventi/Performance2002
Conference: September 22-27, 2002
Synopsis:
Performance2002 conference solicits superior papers on the development and application of state-of-the-art analytic, simulation, and measurement-based performance evaluation techniques. Of particular interest this year is work that applies performance evaluation methodologies to design and evaluation issues in important new areas such as: Internet and Web performance, Web server software and architecture performance, active networks, content distribution networks, network and server QoS, and security. Papers that advance the state-of-the-art in evaluation methods or that creatively apply methods to system design issues are also solicited.

Title:EMSOFT 2002 WORKSHOP - First Call For Papers
Deadline: 15-Apr-2002
Webpage: http://www-emsoft02.imag.fr/
Conference: October, 7-9, 2002.
Synopsis:
EMSOFT '02 is the second in a series of workshops on Embedded Software. Topics of interest include: System design and integration methodologies, Programming languages and software engineering, Operating systems and middleware, Architectures and compilers, Models of computation and formal methods, Scheduling and execution time analysis, Communication protocols and fault tolerance, Applications, such as embedded control and multimedia. EMSOFT CHAIRS Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli, UC Berkeley, alberto@eecs.berkeley.edu Joseph Sifakis, Verimag, Joseph.Sifakis@imag.fr

ABOUT SIGOPS-ANNOUNCE

The SIGOPS-ANNOUNCE mailing list is intended to provide a low-volume channel that provides operating systems researchers and practitioners with information about upcoming events or other important announcements. In general, a message containing a group of such announcements will be sent about once per month with the subject line "SIGOPS-ANNOUNCE monthly posting". On rare occasions, announcements of particular interest or urgency will be sent out with a different subject line, starting with "SIGOPS-ANNOUNCE supplemental posting" (for readers who wish to use mail filtering programs.) Finally, this mailing list is made available for use by publicity chairs of SIGOPS-sponsored conferences and the SIGOPS officers.

To subscribe, send a message to LISTSERV@ACM.ORG with the following command (paste it!) in the body of the message:
