Organized activities during mid-day breaks:

We are organizing three activities during the afternoon breaks on both Monday and Tuesday (approximately 12:30 - 4 PM on both days). Each activity will be led by a student volunteer. All you have to do is express interest at the start of the day and join the group sometime during lunch.

Activity 1: Walk through lost lake park. The lost lake park is located a few minutes walk from the hotel and has a network of trails. In the winter it is used by cross-country skiers, while in the summer it is used by hikers/joggers/bikers. We will organize a refreshing walk around the lake and through the park.

Activity 2: Visit to the First Nations Museum. The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre is located just across from the hotel and will offer a guided tour for our group. It is a beautiful museum that will help you localize and learn about the art, history, and culture of the Squamish and Lil'wat communities that lived in the Whistler area.

Activity 3: Visit to the top of Blackcomb mountain. Whistler-Blackcomb is one of the largest skiing resorts in the North America. We will take a gondola to the top of Blackcomb mountain, to soak up the views (weather permitting) and eat our lunch alongside the spring skiers.

Other activities at Whistler/Blackcomb:

There are a number of other activities in the area that you may want to consider. There are especially many options for outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. Consult the activities page by the Fairmont hotel, and tourism whistler site for more information.
