System researchers made remarkable achievements in the election of ACM China Rising Star Award and Doctoral Dissertation Award

ACM Turing Award Celebration Conference – China (ACM TURC 2021) was held in Hefei, China from July 30 to August 1, 2021. The conference announced winners of the Rising Star Award and the Doctoral Dissertation Award. Researchers recommended by ChinaSys have performed excellently: they have received two Doctoral Dissertation Awards and two honorable nominations for Rising Star Awards (each award has only two winners and two honorable nominations per year).

In the election of 2020 ACM China Doctoral Dissertation Award, Pengfei Zuo (Ph.D. in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, recommended by ChinaSys) won the award due to his research on memory and storage systems. In the election of 2019 ACM China Doctoral Dissertation Award, Bojie Li (Ph.D. in University of Science and Technology of China, recommended by ChinaSys) won the award due to his research on programmable NICs for high-performance data centers. Meanwhile, Zidong Du (Associate Professor in Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Youyou Lu (Associate Professor in Tsinghua University), also recommended by ChinaSys, were nominated for the  2020 and 2019 ACM China Rising Star Awards, respectively.
