The 25th ChinaSys Workshop

The 25th ChinaSys Workshop on Computer Systems was held on December 16-17, 2023, in Lanzhou, Gansu. The workshop is organized by ACM China SIGOPS (ChinaSys), hosted by Lanzhou University and Peking University, with the support of Tsinghua University Press. The event was sponsored by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Huawei Cloud Computing Technologies Co., Ltd., and Ant Group.

The themes of the keynotes encompassed open-source chips, large language models, operating systems, and mobile systems, which were were delivered by distinguished researchers including Bao Yungang, the Deputy Director of the ICT, CAS; Liu Xuanzhe, the Deputy Director of the Software Institute at Peking University; Wu Chenggang, a Researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Computer Architecture at the ICT, CAS; and Li Zhenhua, an Associate Professor at Tsinghua University.

Qun Huang from Peking University and Youmin Chen from Tsinghua University served as the chairs of the Program Committee, and the submitted papers underwent rigorous selection by the Program Committee, which consisted of young researchers from Mainland China with extensive experience in computer systems research. The Program Committee selected 33 presentations, including Working-in-Progress reports, covering a wide range of topics such as large model training and inference, operating systems, hardware accelerators, storage systems, database systems, quantum computing, and serverless computing.

The conference also presented awards to researchers who received the ChinaSys Rising Star Award and the ChinaSys Doctoral Dissertation Award for the year 2023. The awardees are as follows:

2023 ChinaSys Rising Star Award Winner:

2023 ChinaSys Doctoral Dissertation Award Winner:

  • Pengfei Li (Huawei)

  • Xiangyu Zou (HIT Shenzhen)
